Questions people ask
Short answers about the games, commissions and the studio. Anything missing? Email me. austinespinosa@foxglowgames.com
The studio
Who is behind Foxglow Games?
Just me, Austin Espinosa. Foxglow Games is a one-person indie studio in Tokyo. I write the code, make the art and do the localization myself.
What does Foxglow Games make?
Small, experimental games (often in C++ with no engine), custom widgets and overlays for VTubers and streamers, Live2D models, websites, and English and Japanese localization.
Who is the fox?
That’s Aoi, the studio mascot: a blue fox with a small crown and two tails. Try poking her on the home page.
The games
Are the games free?
Yes. Every game is free on itch.io. You can leave a tip there if you want to support the studio, but you never have to.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Everything runs in a desktop browser. In the Shadows of the Past needs a browser with WebGL2, which any recent Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari has.
Which games are in Japanese?
In the Shadows of the Past, Neon Broke, Nectar Days and Verse and Venom all have full Japanese. You can switch the language in each game’s settings or main menu.
Can I play on my phone?
Most of the games are built for a keyboard and mouse, so a computer works best. Neon Broke only needs clicks, so it is the most touch-friendly.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
Leave a comment on the game’s itch.io page with your browser name, or email me. I read everything.
Commissions
Do you take commissions?
Yes: stream widgets and overlays, Live2D rigging and character art, websites and web tools, game and app programming, and English and Japanese localization and LQA.
How much does a stream widget cost?
Small widgets start around ¥3,000. Bigger jobs, like full overlay sets, get a quote. We agree on scope, schedule and price before I start.
Do you offer discounts?
VTubers who are planning their debut or just debuted get 20% off. Message me on X or Bluesky for the code, or mention it when you email.
Can you localize my game into English or Japanese?
Yes. I translate and review in both directions and do in-game LQA, checking for cut-off text, bad line breaks, missing characters and the wrong tone. I do LQA professionally, and I’m credited on Swarmslam.
Where can I book you?
Email is best for anything custom. You can also commission me through Ko-fi or VGen.
Can I write to you in Japanese?
Of course. I work in both English and Japanese.
